Born in Stuttgart and raised in Zurich, Gregor lives between Cologne, Düsseldorf and Zurich. Even as a child, Gregor commuted back and forth between Switzerland and Germany. Whilst going to school in Zurich, Switzerland, his second home has always been with his grandparents in southern Germany. The values of hospitality and eating together were passed on by his father and especially by his grandmother. Artistically, these values have a broad impact on his work and his conception of art creation.
In recent years, his work has centred on social interaction, especially food and cooking, but also on everyday life and its banality. This is reflected in various forms of expression such as sculpture, installation and performance. Most importantly, collective and collaborative working methods are an essential part of his artistic and curatorial practice.
