born in stuttgart, living between cologne, düsseldorf and zürich, gregor grew up going back and fourth between switzerland and germany. after the death of his mother, his second home was with his grandparents in southern germany. whilst going to school in zurich, and spending most of his holidays in southern germany, the values of hospitality and collective eating were passed on by his father and especially by his grandmother.
studying photography in essen, germany, then as an exchange fine arts in saint-étienne, france, and now at kunstakademie düsseldorf, gregor started to see the broadness of (artistic) expression and different, alternative ways of thinking and creating.
for the last few years, his artistic practice has been evolving around eating and cooking but also everyday life and it‘s banality in different means of expression such as photography, sculpture, installation, painting and performance. Lately his work has been moving more towards collaboration and curating as forms of artistic practice.
